Roll On Roll Off Skip Hire FAQs
What sizes of RoRo skips do you offer?
We supply 15 yard, 20 yard and 40 yard Roll On Roll Off skips. The 15 yard container is ideal for heavy materials such as soil and hardcore, while the 20 and 40 yard options are better suited to bulky or high-volume lighter waste.
What size RoRo skip do I need?
The right size depends on the type and weight of waste. Heavier materials are usually best placed in a 15 yard RoRo to avoid exceeding weight limits. For large volumes of lighter commercial or construction waste, a 20 or 40 yard skip is often more suitable. Our team can advise based on your project requirements.
What can I put in a Roll On Roll Off skip?
RoRo skips are suitable for most non-hazardous waste, including:
-
Construction and demolition waste
-
Wood and timber
-
Metal
-
Packaging and cardboard
-
General commercial waste
-
Mixed non-hazardous materials
If you are unsure about a specific item, contact our team before loading the skip.
What cannot go in a RoRo skip?
The following items are not permitted unless agreed in advance:
-
Asbestos
-
Hazardous chemicals
-
Paint, solvents and oils
-
Gas cylinders
-
Tyres
-
Fridges and electrical appliances
-
Medical or clinical waste
If you require disposal of restricted items, we can advise on appropriate solutions.
Do I need a permit for a RoRo skip?
If the Roll On Roll Off skip is placed on a public highway, a permit from the local authority is required. If the skip is positioned on private land, no permit is needed. We can assist in arranging permits where necessary.
How much space is required for delivery?
RoRo skips are delivered by large HGV vehicles and require sufficient access. You will typically need:
-
Clear access width of around 3 metres
-
Solid, level ground
-
Adequate manoeuvring space
-
No overhead obstructions such as cables or low branches
If you are unsure about access, our team can advise before delivery.
