Skip Sizes

Skip sizes for commercial projects

Different jobs need different skips. We hire out everything from smaller builders’ skips for kitchen strip-outs and garden clearances through to large roll-on roll-off containers for full site clearances and bulky waste. If you’re handling a shop refit, an office move or heavy construction waste, there’s a size that’ll fit the job without paying for space you won’t use.

Not sure what you need? Our skip size guide breaks down the options, or you can ring the team, and we’ll match you with the right skip in a couple of minutes.

Permits and Site Access

Permits and access for commercial skips

If your skip is going on private land, whether that’s a yard, car park, site compound or driveway, you won’t need a permit. We’ll agree on a drop point with you and place it safely on arrival.

If the skip needs to sit on a public road, verge or pavement, you’ll need a permit from the local council. We can advise on the process and point you to the right forms, or arrange it on your behalf, depending on the location. Most permits take a few working days to come through, so it’s worth flagging this when you book.

When it comes to access, we just need enough space for the lorry to get in, drop off and leave. If you’re not sure whether your site works, send us a photo or description and we’ll let you know.

Correctly Filled Skip

How our commercial skip hire service works

We’ve kept the process simple so you can book without any complications:

  1. Choose the right skip size, or ask the team to recommend one
  2. Book online or speak to us directly
  3. We deliver to your site or premises on the agreed date
  4. Fill the skip at your own pace during your hire period
  5. We collect when you’re ready and handle the waste responsibly

For regular or long-running jobs, we can set up ongoing hire arrangements, so you’re not booking from scratch every time.

Faqs

Commercial Skip Hire FAQs

What size skip do I need for a commercial job?

It depends on the type of waste and how much you’re generating. Smaller refurbs and clearances often need a 6 or 8 yard skip, while larger site work usually calls for a 12 yard or roll-on roll-off. If in doubt, give us a ring and we’ll recommend the right option.

Can businesses hire skips for ongoing work?

Yes. We regularly work with builders, contractors and businesses on repeat and long-term hires. We can set up account-based booking so ordering the next skip takes a few minutes rather than a full enquiry.

What waste can go in a commercial skip?

General waste, construction and demolition waste, mixed refurb waste, soil, hardcore and green waste are all fine. Hazardous materials, plasterboard, tyres, fridges and electricals need to be kept separate, just let us know in advance and we’ll be able to accommodate.

Do I need a permit for commercial skip hire?

Only if the skip is going on a public road, pavement or verge. Skips placed on private land, yards, car parks or site compounds don’t need a permit.

Can you deliver skips to building sites and business premises?

Yes. We deliver to active construction sites, business yards, commercial units, retail premises and offices across our service area.

How quickly can a skip be delivered?

We often deliver same-week, and next-day delivery is available in most areas, subject to availability. If you need something urgent, call us, and we’ll do our best to accommodate.
