Waste Management

Waste Management

What Happens to the Waste?

At Speedy Skips, we understand that recycling and waste disposal has a direct effect on the environment and domestic and trade customers. As we manage waste from Gloucester, Cheltenham, Stroud, Forest of Dean and further afield, we have heavily invested in
our waste disposal management services.

Not only does this mean that your domestic, commercial and building waste will be disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner, but will also allow you or your company to
manage waste more effectively.

Speedy Skips can recycle 98% of your waste on site in Gloucester using a state-of-the-art waste management sorting machine. As part of our green company ethos and recycling mission, we now carry out a unique on-site recycling washing process making both Speedy Skips and Allstone more environmentally sustainable than ever before!

All asbestos waste is to be prepared and disposed in line with the HSE guidelines prior to skip collection. This includes appropriate wrapping and labelling of asbestos waste before being placed in the skip. Please see HSE website for details HSE – Asbestos: Asbestos essentials

Wood/Chipboard Furniture

The environmental impacts of recycling wood are astronomical in that it can aid the preservation of natural resources, trees and habitats, as well as help maintain air quality, reduce soil erosion and extend the lifespan of landfills. Refurbishment is another popular use for recycled wood.

Green Waste

Our green waste skips can be used for leaves, weeds, grass, plant and cuttings. Cutting down large trees and branches as well as placing larger and heavier items on top will push the smaller green debris down to help maximise space in the skip. Recycling methods for this type of waste including: composting, bark and wood chips.

Soils and Inert Waste

We are partnered with licensed facilities that are able to recycle an extensive range of soils and inert waste. Recycling these materials will help reduce your carbon footprint and minimise the impact on the environment.

Hardcore & Aggregate Recycling

These materials are mostly a result of construction and demolition waste, consisting mainly of broken down brick, concrete and tiles. Recycling them using the proper methods will help reduce the risk of contamination as well as allow them to be recycled for reuse in the construction industry.

Metal Recycling

The recycling of metals is very important as they are likely to become more expensive and difficult to obtain in the future. At Allstone we are able to assist with the recycling of all types of metal grades, including iron, steel, stainless steel, aluminium, copper and more.

Mixed Waste Recycling

Mixed waste recycling refers to unsorted domestic and trade waste and can include any combination of plastics, metals and green waste. To be recycled efficiently, mixed waste has to be separated and processed using the necessary methods.
